One of Sumter's business advocacy and development leaders will for the next few years represent the interests of the Midlands region by gaining continuing education and leadership opportunities.
Chris Hardy, president and CEO of the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce, was named to the Carolinas Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives Board of Directors for the 2019-21 term, according to a news release from the Sumter Chamber.
"I served on the board from 2010-12 when I was at the Clemson Area Chamber of Commerce but had to resign my position when I accepted the position at the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce," Hardy said.
Hardy will represent the central region of South Carolina, covering the entire Midlands and surrounding areas. CACCE is the professional development organization for Chamber of Commerce executives and staff members in North Carolina and South Carolina and equips Chamber of Commerce professionals with continuing education opportunities while providing leadership tools and skills to build innovative Chambers.
"CACCE is a dynamic organization that provides a considerable amount of value to the Chambers of Commerce in North and South Carolina," Hardy said. "Outside of the staff development conference in the spring and the annual management conference in the fall, CACCE provides continuing education and learning opportunities throughout the entire year."
