    Title: Communications Director
    Reports to: President & CEO
    Overall Responsibility
    The Communications Director works collaboratively with all staff members to create, promote, and execute programs, events, and day to day operations that support and further the mission of the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, the Communications Director is responsible for telling the Chamber story by providing and designing creative content in the form of marketing materials, photography, video production, websites content, weekly newsletters, and social media. Additionally, this staff member serves as the liaison to chamber committees.  
    Qualifications and Experience:
    High school diploma is required with a minimum of a 2-year degree with a 4-year degree preferred. Special consideration will be given to individuals with degrees in Communications, Graphic Design, or a minimum of 5 years’ experience. Must be a self-motivated team player with the ability to work under little to no supervision. Imperative to be detail oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to multi task in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment. In addition, proficiency of MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite software to include InDesign, Illustrator, and photoshop. This position requires after hours events and community engagement. 
    Competitive salary is available based on experience. Health, Dental and Vision insurance available, including employer contributed Simple IRA after 1 year of employment. 
    Details of Responsibilities:

    •  Acts as coordinator for Chamber communication tools and resources
    • Design graphics for social media, printed media, presentations, web pages and events
    • Manage the Chamber’s online presence and create and curate content from a variety of sources
    • Works with Vice President of Programs and Events, Sales and Marketing to coordinate promotion of all Chamber programs/events.
    • Responsible for creating, curating content, and publishing Chamber weekly e-newsletters via Constant Contact
    • Works to promote and answer questions regarding advertising 
    • Works with Vice President of Programs and Events to plan, promote, setup, and execute events
    • Preparation of press releases with assistance from President & CEO
    • Attends all Chamber programs/events while serving as designated Chamber photographer
    • Coordinates with Vice President of Programs and Events and Vice President of Partner Development to communicate all available member benefits and services to business community
    • Attends various Chamber committee meetings assigned by President & CEO
    • Visits Chamber members to continuously promote Chamber and its membership for digital and social media awareness
    • Serves as primary backup to front desk duties during lunch or vacation days
    • Coordinates the production of the Chamber’s annual magazine and Membership guide
    • Creates content to use in all Chamber related printed and digital publications 
    • Additional duties and responsibilities assigned by President & CEO
    • Manage branding for the chamber and all other subsidiary programs & events
    • Assist with running IT at events and the Annual Chamber Retreat
