Christopher Berg is an award-winning performing and recording artist. He has performed in such venues as Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, and the Dame Myra Hess Center, and has presented recitals at many guitar festivals across the country. He has written several books on guitar technique and performance practice. The most recent, The Classical Guitar Companion, was commissioned by Oxford University Press and is due to be published in November 2019. He was a student of the great Andres Segovia. Berg directs the classical guitar program at the University of South Carolina. His awards include a Solo Recitalist Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, and two Solo Artist Fellowships from the SC Arts Commission. The Post and Courier has described his playing as "a stellar display of guitar virtuosity," and The State praised a performance as "electrifying … hugely enjoyable and freshly played.
