The play, A Good Man Is Hard to Find toured in the 1990’s for about 7 years, and is still remembered today from theatre goers throughout the United States. It’s about how men are viewed by women and their pursuit of a good man as well as how women are viewed by men as a good woman. The play depicts the many issues found in relationships between husbands and wives, and how their lives and relationships are impacted by outside influences of today’s society. It keeps the audience on the edge of their seat with lots of emotional turmoil from laughter to crying, from anger to happiness, from sadness to joy, and so on. It has an array of awesome messages intertwined in its twists and turns that the audience can’t wait to see what happens next. It has the ability to capture the audience so that they truly experience the power of forgiveness and reconciliation even in their own lives. It has received rave reviews from audiences across the country, and now it’s back by popular demand to kick off its 30-year reunion! ABOUT THE WRITER
Pearl J. Smith is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina. She has been writing since the age of 12, and wrote the play, A Good Man Is Hard to Find in 1991 after receiving overwhelming interest and support from her radio talk show, “Marriage Matters”. The play, A Good Man Is Hard to Find is the longest running play of its kind that toured the United States for a period of seven years. She is a pioneer playwright who paved the way for other playwrights to follow their dreams in taking their work to the big stage. She is a humble writer who writes for and with a purpose. Her style of writing pulls on the heart strings of the reader or viewer. Anyone who experiences Pearl’s writing whether reading it or seeing it on the stage will experience the ultimate heartfelt emotions from her style of writing. She was always behind the scene while others claimed her work but she is no longer behind the scenes as she celebrates the 30-year anniversary and reunion of her well known play, A Good Man Is Hard to Find.
