The 2017 Chamber Retreat is themed Investing for the Future, and the agenda for the event reflects this. We will have facilitators from local organizations as well as the Quality Enhancement for Non-Profits center from UNC Wilmington that will guide strategic planning breakout sessions intended to help create a five year strategic plan for the Chamber.
Attendees will be able to participate in breakout sessions on topics such as Workforce Development, Small Business and Community Enhancement, and Legislative and Military Relations. By soliciting input from attendees on how they think the Chamber should address these issues, we will be able to develop a strategic plan that fits both the mission of the Chamber and the interests of members.
DEADLINE to receive group pricing of $475 single/$675 couple is Midnight on January 30th. After that, attendees must pay the going hotel rate for rooms.
Additional Activities Include
Moonlight Dinner Cruise on Friday Evening
Enjoy a casual dinner while you ride past the Wilmington waterfront and up the Northeast Cape Fear River. The Northeast Cape Fear River is largely unpopulated and looks much like it did when Wilmington was colonized. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the largely unspoiled black water system.
Our boat, the Wilmington, is a USCG M/V state-of-the-art 46' Catamaran. She has a wake cancelling design and can be fully enclosed and heated, if necessary. She has comfortable seating, and a large, clean bathroom.
Cruise leaves the Hilton City Dock at 7:45pm and will last for approximately 2 hours. Price is $45 per person and includes a buffet dinner with a fully stocked cash bar. Space is limited to 40 attendees. Register through the "Register Now" button at the top of the page.
Saturday Lunch Cruise -
Downtown Wilmington: Past, Present, and Future
Join us for an informative and interactive tour focusing on the economic history of downtown Wilmington, the efforts that have been made during the revitalization, and their plans for the future. Our hosts, Captain Doug Springer and his wife Diane Upton, are local business owners who have been involved in many aspects of the revitalization and downtown development efforts. In addition to talking to the group about some of the initiatives that have helped downtown Wilmington grow, they will be happy to answer questions from our group.
After the downtown portion of the tour, we will take a quick spin past the Battleship North Carolina and back down past the state ports before returning to the Hilton Dock.
Cruise leaves the Hilton City Dock at 12:30pm and will return at 2:00pm. Price is $35 per person and includes lunch. Space is limited to 30 attendees. Register through the "Register Now" button at the top of the page.
