The Chamber

Working to keep a balanced business environment for all of its members takes a great deal of effort by many people. The five-member staff of the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce works together to manage operations, membership, finances and communications that affect not only our businesses but our community overall. 

The Chamber not only has a full-time staff available, community business leaders also volunteer their time and efforts to propel Sumter to success. Chamber volunteers who serve in a variey of positions from committee members to Chair of the Board all play a vital role in moving the community forward. 

These volunteers, in conjunction with the Chamber staff, devise a plan every year called the "Program of Work", outlining objectives and strategies to achieve them. A strong chamber helps form the backbone of a strong economy. By representing a variety of businesses and individuals, the Greater Sumter Chamber helps to drive our community’s growth and social success. By supporting your chamber, you support your community and yourself. Working together with the chamber ensures a driving force toward economic prosperity for generations of Sumter citizens. As always the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce looks forward to pushing our local economy to perform at an optimum level.
